Oklahoma Dorper SHow & Sale

Last weekend we drove 8 hours to a Dorper sheep show and Sale in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The dive up wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Brylie was so good. She was content watching movies and playing with a paint set (the kind that only shows up on special paper). Once at the show, she was the only little kid so she pretty much entertained herself most of the time.

Playing with her toys. Until a farm equip. guy set up a display with different feeders right next to our pens. Brylie discovered she could crawl into this mineral feeder and spin around. And that is were she was the rest of the weekend!

We did pretty good at the show and Sale I guess. We sold 5 of the six sheep we took, we bought one back because Brad thought he could sell it for more. But we also bought a Ram and a Ewe from another breeder. At least we hauled less sheep home than we brought up.
The trip home was not bad either. I ran Brylie around the building during the sale thinking I would wear her out so she would sleep a while. Wrong again. We made it as far as Granbury (about half way) Saturday night and stayed Desi and Cole. So Brylie was on Cloud 9! Then got up early Sunday and continued on home.
So all and all our road trip to Oklahoma was good, and Brylie did great the whole way. Not sure how we got so lucky, with such an easy going kid!
(I am just hopeing Buckshot will be a lot like his big sister)

Easter and Papa's 95th Birthday!

We had a very busy Easter Weekend. We missed the Easter egg hunt at the Pioneer Museum the weekend before last, so the twins brought their kids out to our house on Saturday for an egg hunt. The guys hid the eggs and Desi dressed up as the Easter bunny. When the dog saw her, he went crazy and ran the other direction (such a great watch dog), it was so funny. The kids thought she was funny too!

Not sure what the momma's in the back ground are doing, sure not watching their kids look for eggs?

I guess we hid to many eggs, because the kids were bored before they found them all. And started to play!

Saturday night when I was putting Brylie to bed, I told her she had to hurry up and go to sleep so the Easter bunny could fill her basket with a surprise. She asked me if Aunt Desi was going to fill her basket. I said no the real Easter Bunny, not Aunt Desi. So after a few minute I think I convinced Brylie that Desi was just a pretend dress up Easter Bunny, not the real one.

Sunday Morning we went to Church in Harper and then to my grandparents house for Lunch. My grandfather's 95th Birthday was on Saturday so we celebrated that too.

Oma and Desi

After the egg hunt, we headed to town to meet Brad's family at the nursing home to visit with his Grandmother.

Brylie loves playing with James and Jacob. She is such a rough little girl.
That about did it. Brylie was completely worn out. She was so cranky on the way home. She finally crashed around 6, not the perfect time, since I was thinking we would just go to bed early. But she slept about an hour, I woke her up to eat supper, and she was ready for bed again at 8. And so was I!

Opa's Helper

Helping Opa tube a very small goat kid!

Playing in the orphan kids pen.

Driving the Mule. Brylie steers and Opa controls the pedals. Opa is very brave, because brylie never looks the direction she is driving.

Bottleing a set of Dorper twins, whos mommy dosen't have enough milk. Opa calls them Brylie future show lambs, since they are so tame.

another Wedding Pic.

A Side view of the pregnant bridesmaid, thanks to my sisters. I had been dreading being the fat pregnant bridesmaid. But it was not as bad as I thought. The dress actually hind my belly a little, thank goodness.

Even in her princess dress she found boy's toys to play with.

Brylie & Avery Dancing! These two danced all night.

Didn't think about trying to take a family picture until close to 11. I think we should have tried a little earlier.

At about 11:30 Brylie decided she was hungry. So Desi got her a plate of Potato Salad, and she eat all of it. But Brylie never eats potatoes, except for french fries. She must have been on hungry little girl.

She finally crashed around 12:30. I can't believe she lasted that long.
