Last weekend we drove 8 hours to a Dorper sheep show and Sale in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The dive up wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Brylie was so good. She was content watching movies and playing with a paint set (the kind that only shows up on special paper). Once at the show, she was the only little kid so she pretty much entertained herself most of the time.
Playing with her toys. Until a farm equip. guy set up a display with different feeders right next to our pens. Brylie discovered she could crawl into this mineral feeder and spin around. And that is were she was the rest of the weekend!
We did pretty good at the show and Sale I guess. We sold 5 of the six sheep we took, we bought one back because Brad thought he could sell it for more. But we also bought a Ram and a Ewe from another breeder. At least we hauled less sheep home than we brought up.
The trip home was not bad either. I ran Brylie around the building during the sale thinking I would wear her out so she would sleep a while. Wrong again. We made it as far as Granbury (about half way) Saturday night and stayed Desi and Cole. So Brylie was on Cloud 9! Then got up early Sunday and continued on home.
So all and all our road trip to Oklahoma was good, and Brylie did great the whole way. Not sure how we got so lucky, with such an easy going kid!
(I am just hopeing Buckshot will be a lot like his big sister)
